The Flying M Observatory is operated by Chuck and Karina. We live on a remote 400 acre ranch in nortwestern Arizona. We both share a profound interest in astronomy, physics and the universe in general. We’re lucky enough to live under moderatey dark skies and we fully intend to take advantage of that.
My name is Chuck and I retired from the U.S. Air Force in 2000 and worked as a jet engine test technician until i retired in 2017. I previously lived in Las Vegas Nevada where I had a small roll off building observatory. I dabbled in astrophotography and took a handful of decent photos. The scope I used, and still have was a 10” Meade LX200. Being located in Las Vegas, the light pollution was a constant battle. Now, I have an almost perfect location.
Karina is a retired Registered Nurse. She is brand new to astronomy but is super interested and always willing to learn everything she can. She is going to love it!
